The incoming WM Ben Slaney nominated “Safe In Sussex” as the recipient charity for the raffle proceeds from the Festive Board on Installation evening. We are delighted to say that we collected £195. The Sussex Provincial Grand Lodge representative intimated that Sussex might match this with an equal donation if asked by our Charity Steward.
This local charity’s primary mission is to enable women and their children to live their lives free of domestic violence, abuse and intimidation. With matched-funding from Sussex, this will enable them to reprint 1000 copies of their booklet advising women how to detect and perhaps correct the early stages of emotional and physical abuse from their partners. Our generosity might receive and acknowledgement in the booklet if we so wish.
