Ashlar Club Curry Night

January 14, 2018

A relatively new initiative from province and masonry around the country has been the introduction of “Light Blues” these are in short clubs for newly initiated, interested, or masons who as of yet not been given any provincial honours.  In Sussex there are now three of these clubs, the Ashlar being a newly formed club specifically to cover the Northern area of Sussex. The clubs are predominantly encouraging a more social aspect of Freemasonry amongst each other encompassing different lodges and their family and friends.

Apart from an excellent night out, this event (and, no doubt, future events) offer a great opportunity to involve our better halves, friends and family to get to know the lodge’s brethren and Freemasonry, in general.  It was a relaxed informal night of food and beer shared with about twenty people from a mixture or around five different lodges and some just interested in joining.

Tonight was their first meet up and a very good turnout it has to be said, it really was enjoyable and a few attendees are keen for the details on our own up and coming Hepworth Brewery Tour in March.  The Ashlar Club hope to do regular monthly meet ups, and are looking for suggestions as well as people to come along. Please give their webpage a look or follow their Facebook page to keep up to date with events.  Maybe see a few of you at the next one.
